What did you wear?

Do you know that dressing influences your confidence?

Have you ever dressed up and you stepped out with so much confidence? Have you ever looked into the mirror after dressing up and in your mind you  say ‘see fine boy/girl?’ Has dressing changed the way you walk, talk or/and pose before?

Now, have you ever been in a gathering and it looks like you should just enter into your shell to hide? Have you ever been in a gathering where standing up to ease yourself became a problem?

Yes! Before you come for me, I know.
I know that other factors can make someone experience everything up there aside dressing but if you can pay attention to people and to yourself; you will see the influence of dressing to your confidence. In fact, I’m not in the best position to talk about this because I know I pay less attention to dressing but then I have realized that anytime I put on a particular shoe I have- people call it ‘bugibugi’- with a nice jean trouser and round neck shirt, I walk with so much confidence and the way I behave throughout will be different; you will see bouncing as I walk and sincerely, I don’t do that intentionally.

Now let me go to the ladies;

That bumper short, crop top and others looks really very nice on you to the extent that it always get more attention than you expected. Isn’t that beautiful? But like seriously, those sexy clothes on you had got my attention so much that I forgot all the great innovations I was thinking before I set my eyes on you and I think many guys have also one way or the other be in my shoe before.

It attract me so much that in my mind, I  just want to ask you out and ‘I really don’t know why’ I want to- I wonder how many ladies I will have asked out if I follow that emotion. Now, let’s talk about the “I DON’T KNOW WHY” attached to what your attraction brings.

 Do you now see why many of those guys coming for you really didn’t stay long? Oh! So sorry; they stayed long enough to have what they wanted or probably left because you are taking too long to answer.

There is really no solid foundation for them to come neither is there any provided for them to stay. Oh! So sorry; maybe the foundation (on your face) you provided is not enough to make them stay.

 “That’s why we guys cheat; look for money by all means so that we can get all that we need to get you”

If you are a guy and you nodded your head in agreement to the excuse above, then you are part of the problem. So if ladies are foods, you can as well eat the concoction placed by the road side for the gods?   You went as far as defiling the innocent young girls too?  Even if they are not innocent must you make them complicated?       
                   
I stand to be corrected “We have the world we have today because of some of these little things”

If only we can give ‘our personal values’ preference above other things; If only we can wear tangible values, our smart dressing would just be a great compliment.

“How do you want me to believe that you are not prepared for this exam- a whole you? What then should i be saying if the professor in my class is saying this?” he placed his two hands on his head and gave a remorseful look while he walk away to tell others about what i told him.

“It’s a lie! How on earth will you believe a scholar isn’t well prepared? Let him get the question and you will see how his pen will be dancing. Stay there and let him be deceiving you” that was the reply he got after telling them what we discussed.

The very first thing that came to my mind was the fact that achieving success is very much easier than sustaining it especially when there are lots of expectations from people. I stood afar and couldn’t stop shaking my head consistently; at first to mourn my inconsistency and also how much expectations they all have about me.

Let me tell you how it all started;

 I’ve always worked towards being a leader by example and at the same time unnoticeable- which is very important to me. One of my core values is the “No excuse” mentality which I’ve always put at the fore front of any of my decision making. The goal is to be excellent in my profession (my course of study) and my purpose (life coaching) but on this journey is a lesson I’ll like to share.

At first, i was able to balance the two sides until I begin to experience a consistent shift away from my course of study. It’s not like i didn’t have plans for my studies, i did but at every point i tried to get the knowledge, i just noticed the enthusiasm is not just there again. It started gradually until it’s now very low. I can spend all day motivating people but just a glance on my book is a sleeping dose for me.

I really didn’t take it serious until it is almost late but i never give up still.

My point

That my one experience simply taught me what i couldn’t understand when people share this same experience with me long time ago. I had a taste of how loss of motivation can be a serious hindrance in the face of plans, work, experience, and records.

But my birthday gift is to tell you what i always do at every stage I’m overwhelmed with discouragement. “I stop anything I’m doing; I reach out to friends; I then think of what to do then say a word of prayer for help.
