The voice of blood

Episode 16

Ademi got to office and went straight to Mr Emeka's office only for him to see him bow his head and was tapping the table. Ademi was very scared of what will happen, because for his boss to bow his head and was using his finger to tap the top of the table while his leg was tapping the floor, means he is either worried or angry.

So Ademi wanted to sneak out of his office and in the process, Mr Emeka raised his head and saw him 'Ademi! Why did you take so long? You got me worried and i was beginning to think otherwise. So where is it?'

That question landed a blow to his heart. His heart started beating fast. He began to scratch his head and was looking like someone that wants to confess. 'Excuse me sir, there is a problem right now and it's a big one. As i was about to withdraw the money from the bank, I was told that my account had been blocked...'

While he was explaining, Mr Emeka got bitter inwardly, but changed his motive to what the solution could be. He later finalized that he would go for a loan. But then, the unfortunate thing is that, Ademi will be the one to pay the interest.
"Ademi! Enough of your explanations. I have heard you and i have been in that shoe before. But i am disappointed that you didn't get a statutory IDcard at all. Not even one even if it is a driver's license. That alone could have helped the case and I think you know how urgent the money is, but do not worry, i will just go the bank to get a loan.

Now, there is a problem. Bank will definitely get an interest on a loan and that, i cannot pay. The more days we use without paying up, the more interest we pay. So, i am getting a loan on your behalf which means that you will pay the interest. " Mr Emeka said this frankly.

Ademi accepted the offer without even counting the cost. The interest monthly will spend about eighty percent of his salary without pity and that is what Ademi said yes to. He was even happy about it. So he will continue to get twenty percent of his salary only until he was able to resolve the bank issue.

Also, he was going to spend out of the little amount to make all the runnings for a passport. People in his office adviced him to go for a driver's license or a national ID card but he insisted on a passport since he will be needing it to travel out of the country soon. He was going to use one stone to kill two birds.

He went for the passport registration and met another challenge. At first, it was a large crowd. Even when you get to the registrar's office as early as 8am, you will still meet some number of people with names already in the attendance book. Although, the names may be more than the people you can see physically. Not just that, when they  begin to register, you may be shocked to hear that after three hours, they have not started registering for today's participants. That they were rounding up yesterday's backlog .

Later again, you will start seeing some people with pot bellies and car keys, jumping queues to get their registration done. And if you dare challenge them, they will shun you one way or the other.

This process got Ademi annoyed and after some days, he decided to compromise and was going to bribe his way in. He did that after all and got his registration done but that was not the end. He was going to wait for some days to come back for his copy of passport.

It was supposed to be few days until it turned to weeks before he catalyzed it by bribing someone. And finally, he got it and that was a done deal.

He couldn't take the passport to the bank that day because of time and so he took it as early as possible the next day. That is when they started their annoying way of verifying if it's original or fake. To Ademi, it was as if the bank didn't want him to withdraw the money because of the way they were behaving and he came ready for them that day.

He wasn't even behaving like a cool guy this time. He looked very upset and stressed. Even the manager couldn't stop pleading 'we are sorry for any inconvenience we might have caused you'

Ademi kept counting the cost for him to get the passport done as soon as possible especially the aspect of breaking his principle- compromise his standards and bribed his way through. That got him bitter and his conscience will not let him rest. That was when that short Manager came in with another excuse. The manager came in with photocopies of his passport and some other documents Ademi brought for the upgrading processes

The manager got Ademi very annoyed when he said that 'Mr Ademi, i am sorry to let you know that you won't be able to unblock your account now because there is another problem from your side you will need to correct. It is just that.... '

Ademi cut short the explanation of the manager when he said that 'Please go straight to the point and stop this long explanation you are giving me' he was so tensed and was ready to roar immediately he heard what the problem is this time.

Episode 15

"Hello Ademi! How are you doing baby? I know it has been going fine over there though it is kind of stressful so as is it for me here too, but the joy is that our purpose for doing this keeps me going and i know that's  the fuel for you too. Most of all, i am so happy that we've been able to achieve our proposed target because i just checked the savings and i saw it'd be enough to get you across to me here and to also get you an apartment too. So Ademi, i am calling you to bring your notice to this so that you can start making arrangements to come around. You know it's not that easy to get a Visa there. What are your plans Ademi?" Carolina opened the floor of their conversation with this. It was like Ademi should be with her immediately. You could feel the enthusiasm in her voice.

Ademi was left in a state that can't be explained. The love for his job versus the love for Caro plus their commitment. 'Hope i will not be selfish to go my own way? What if she get's mad at me?' He was just scared of what his decision could lead to. While he was talking, you could sense the fear of the unknown. "Caro, i thought of something that i will like to tell you. It's just my idea and if you are not ok with it, let me know. It's not like i wanted it by force, your decision is final. Is ...'

Carolina was tensed hearing all these introduction before the words. She was scared of what this might be. 'What will make this guy be stammering like this and beating around the bush like this?' she thought in her mind. "Ademi, go straight to your point. You said it's my final decision to make and so it's not a problem just go on with it please'

"I... I was thinking if i can work for another six months to make one year. You know it's a new department and it's not yet ready for a new boss in that position. I will use this six months to groom someone i know is capable of taking this position from me. That's what I was thinking. What do you have to say?' Ademi finally spilled it out

Carolina laughed out loud immediately Ademi was done talking and went silent for some seconds before she finally began to talk:
"Hmmmm.. Hmmm... Ademi! Is this what you want to say that's making you behave like a coward? It's not a problem for me. It's a good decision. In fact, t'wud make us contribute more but then, one year abstaining from your pintle is not easy o. Even this six months was like hell. It was as if i was caged. In fact, i have stopped watching Ghanian films and any other vidoes that can make me horny. I just hope on God to help me for the next six months.

Also, it means in that six months, you must have secured all the necessary things needed to come. So it means that the day you complete your one year, you get on board and land here that day. If you can do that, then we are good to go on that. Because even before, it can take almost six months to secure a Visa. So it means you will start all the processing as soon as possible "

Ademi jumped up for joy. He was so happy because he wasn't even expecting her to agree to his request. He promised to get all the processing ready on or before the one year target.

He began his search for traveling agents and the rest. He finally got one agent who told him everything he needed to get access into Belgium especially as a permanent resident. But there were  lots of challenges.

At first, it was bank issues. He was required to have some huge amount as transaction in his account. And this must have been for a while.

It was not a big problem for him really because he thought of using his influence in the company to get that to happen. Since it wasn't that the money must be there permanently but must just be seen as a transaction. His plan was to do that with the company's money.

It was not long after he thought about this that Mr Emeka trust some amount with him. He was supposed to keep it safe until he-Mr Emeka-ask for it. So he quickly save it into his account. It was a huge amount of money.

Then after about two weeks, Mr Emeka demanded for the money and Ademi head to the bank immediately to cash it out. He was so happy about the help in disguise. But his happiness was soon turned around when he got to bank.

He was feeling himself when he got to bank especially when he presented his request. The bank attendant gave him more respect. They  led him into the VIP's room. They even entertained him and gave him a lot of respect. This time, the manager took up his transaction himself. He left him in the luxury to get him his requested money.

Ademi sat on a cushion chair; resting his back and crossed his leg on the stool in front of him. His eyes were stuck to the plasma TV. He was enjoying the news especially the cool air coming from all corners of the room. The air-conditioner was blowing visible cool air complimented with the scent of the room- what a nice air freshner it is.

The manager came in with another kind of look like a boy that misplaced the money he was given to get something. "Excuse me sir, there is a problem right now? There is a problem with your account. Your account has been blocked..."

"What do you mean my account has been blocked? I used it few weeks ago. Why must it be blocked?" Ademi rage. He looked straight to managers eye to hear the rest of his story

"Sir, the last deposit you made caused it. Your account was restricted to some amount and your last deposit exceeded it." The manager explained

"Imagine! Look at you. Hear what you are saying. When i was depositing it, why didn't the cashier tell me that? What do you mean? (a short pause) So what do you want me to do?" By this time, his patience has been long gone. His boss has been calling him to hasten him up.

"We are very sorry sir for the inconvenience but then, there is a solution. We just need your ID card to upgrade your account and that's all. But it's not just any ID card but a statutory ID card to be precise. I mean either of Voters card, driver's license, Passport or national ID card only"

By this time, Ademi was already sweating profusely. He has misplaced all of those during his abduction. He was very annoyed with them at the bank. He argued and argued but it didn't yield any result. So he left for office.

He was already destabilised and was scared of what Mr Emeka will say.

Mr Emeka wanted that money for some goods he was expecting. It was a kind of paint ingredients that wasn't in the country and was very scarce to get. He has been lobbying for it for about four months and finally got a chance to have it. The most painful aspect of this story is that he was given a three day opportunity to pay for it.
'What will i tell my boss like this?'

The voice of blood

Episode 14

Work day syndrome came knocking. It was a Sunday evening and Ademi was already prepared for work. His clothes were ironed so well that you can see the sharp edges looking like a new blade. The black chinos trouser was paired with a white shirt  with different coloured stripes. He had also ironed his shoes-yes iron is the best way to describe a well polished shoe that's shinning so well especially because it is a new one. To crown this up was the simple brown belt which stole the colour of the shoe like a chameleon will do. It was still Sunday evening but it was as if Ademi was late for work. He was packing everything he thinks he would need for work. He  set his alarm to six hours before the resumption time-six hours for preparation?

When he was done preparing, he ate his dinner and went straight to bed 'I need to sleep early so that i can wake up as early as possible for the new job in a new world' but just like a lot more people do, he couldn't sleep so soon. He was rolling on his bed and one could feel the increase of his heartbeat 'How will i get to start in the new office? How will i introduce myself to everyone around? How...' He did this for about two hours before he finally dozed off.

He finally got up from his bed after so many 'wake up at intervals' disease he faced all through the night. He brushed his teeth differently this time and his bathe was as if he was going to change his skin colour. Not too long, he was already dressed up for work but it was too early to set out for work. So he had to wait at home for about one hour before he set out. But in the space of one hour, he was either adjusting his belt, trousers, combing his hair or looking at a mirror checking one thing or the other. He did this until he got to the gate of his new office.

The fear in him increased at the door and for about a minute, he stood close to the gate and sighed; then he slightly touched his forehead, the joint that connect his hand with his body on the left and right side respectively for about three times before he knocked the gate.

He walked majestically into the building although, he was battling with fear and you can detect that as soon as he greets a person. As soon as he entered the reception, his perfume was like an air freshener to the room. He was looking so radiant and nice for the job.

The receptionist directed him to Mr Emeka's secretary and he began work immediately. The secretary gave him the messages from her boss who was out on an appointment. She gave him some files and took him to his office.

The office was indeed a conducive environment. A table big enough to accommodate a lot of documents and the chair was an adjustable one. The air condition was on high speed. The glass partition gave him a clear view of some other offices around.

The secretary left him when she said that's  'all for now, you can always call me when you need anything.'

He was so happy to be there and everything looked like a dream come true. He rested his neck on the top of his chair and was about placing his right leg on the table before he thought of who might be seeing him. He dropped the leg immediately and got to work.

....

Work was going fine and he was beginning to get used to the office and the people around. He was consistent about his dressing and was always early to work and stayed back for a long time after closing hour . The ladies at the office are beginning to gossip about him but deep down in their heart, he was most of them crush.

He was so passionate about his job that he couldn't even give time to think of any of them though he admires so many of them one way or the other. And some times, he wasn't even given the opportunity because of his regular communication with Carolina who always reminds him of the stuff they had together.

You can see that Ademi loved his job so much not because of his position there or his huge salary. He was always putting on a positive attitude towards everything. He, together with his crew in his department helped double the company's sales in about six months of their existence.

One of Ademi's intern one day asked what his motivation was because he was impressed by the so much energy he put to his work. Ademi in turn told his secret 'My motivation is simply because i love this job. It has always been my biggest dream to be in this position of the job i love doing. I believe it's my talent to market anything and i am always eager to explore it. My biggest dream is to one day sell ice to the Eskimos.

Asides that, a fat paying job is a joy to the earner especially when it is meeting most of your pressing needs. How much more a fat paying job on the job you can spend all your money trying to accomplish. The latter is what i am enjoying presently.

Lastly, aside these two important reasons, what if you will die if you don't do the job? Will you do it?
That's another motivation that keeps me going. I have a commitment to meet up to and if i don't meet up, i would be like a person dying of HIV.' As soon as he finished saying this, Caro's call came in and he had to excuse himself to talk with her.

It's been six months since Ademi started working, so also Carolina. They have both saved sixty percent of their salary every month into an account and that was enough for Ademi to get out of the country as budgeted. So Carolina called him to talk about this and to start making plans.

In Ademi's mind, he was enjoying the job and will want to sacrifice his traveling for the job but he was always considerate about how Carolina will feel. So he thought of telling her to allow him use a year before making plans to come. He wanted to use that time to build a solid foundation for the department but his fear was how Carolina will react to that. So the day came and he had also planned to tell her.

How will he get to tell her? Hope it will not be the beginning of a new quarrel?

The voice of blood

Episode 12

'So Ademi, i have checked your file and realized that you are very experienced about this job but i noticed that you have bridged a rule of this company which may be to your disadvantage. I noticed you have been to prison and that is a disqualification here. If not, you would be resuming work tomorrow as the marketing team leader. Nevertheless, i can't tell what will happen. I will get back to you if I've thought it over. I am doing this because of who sent you to me but I am not promising you a job yet.'

Ademi left there in shock. It was as if his village rulers have gotten him. As he walked out of Mr Emeka's office, his face was like someone who pooed the watery beans and corn he ate few hours ago on his body. His ears were shut from the sounds of his environment but something was still speaking and he was hearing. It was his mind that was screaming silently. 'What have i done to deserve all these recent happenings? Is it my destiny? Is it my fate? Since the night i got committed to Caro, i just keep experiencing one calamity to the other and she keeps rescuing me from them. Will she be able to rescue me this time?'

He brought out his phone in the process and sent a voice note-about what happened between him and Mr Emeka- to Caro.

He was walking along a minor road while he kept explaining to her. He was so passionate about what he was telling her and you could tell in his voice. In fact if you happen to meet him while he was talking, you will stylishly walk behind him to eavesdrop the whole story he was telling.

It was not up to thirty minutes he left Mr Emeka, he tried making a u-turn towards where he would board a bus home but his eyes and mind was stuck to the phone and so he couldn't see a bike coming. Unfortunately for him, the bike man was on high speed trying to show his skills.
He honked for about five times to alert whosoever was on the other side of the turn. He then reduced  his speed a little; swung himself and the bike very low to his right side which looked as if he wanted to fall but he never fell. Instead, he followed the curves on the U-turn and got himself and the bike upright again on the same motion and speed but he eventually landed where Ademi was coming from.

It was confirmed the bike man was very good at it because he managed to avoid hitting Ademi despite that he was very close to his skin. He never touched Ademi but was as close to him as a tattoo is close to the skin. But the unfortunate thing was that Ademi was carried away by the message he was dropping for Caro and so before saw the bike, it was already close to him. His reflex action was activated immediately. He wanted to run away from the bike but couldn't remember he was very close to the gutter. His first step slightly touched the edge of the gutter while the second step from the second leg ran into the gutter itself.

He tried to use his hands to rescue himself from falling in completely but they were injured with scratches and slightly dripping blood at intervals. The most painful part was the sound 'gbo' from the contact of his head with the side of the gutter wall. It sounded so loud that it's echo was very loud too. For few minutes, Ademi was still hearing the sound continually in his head and when the sound finally stopped, he tried getting out but wasn't able to. The most fearful part was when he was looking like someone that had lost his memory or could it be possible that he lost his memory?

Episode 13

The bike man saw what happened and he knew he might be accused of what happened. He knew he might end up  paying for his bills and so what did he do? He added more speed and wanted to run away but someone who knew him called out his name. He heard his name-brother Kasim-and gave up his action of running away. Of what importance is running away when the people around know you already? He faced the music unavoidably. He together with a man took Ademi to an hospital. Ademi was unconscious during this process but he regained his consciousness that day as soon as the doctor perform some quick safety precaution and also gave him injection. At first, it was as if the doctor wanted to kill him because he was forcefully pressing his chest with his two hands. But then, Ademi raised his head suddenly and was breathing heavily. He stayed in the hospital for about two days.

Throughout his stay in the hospital, he was disturbing the nurse to help him look for his phone but as God will have it, the man-who brought him in his car with the bike rider-came around and gave him his phone intact. Not only that, he paid for his medical bills and also instructed the doctor to regularly give him personal check up until he is completely healed. He left without seeing Ademi.

The first thing Ademi did  when he got his phone was to connect with Caro. She hadn't read all his messages because he wasn't able to send them before the incident. He told her everything that happened.

Carolina pitied him and promised to get to Mr Emeka and discuss with him which she did. She called him and begged him like a daughter will beg her Dad when she needs something from him. She told him about his accident on his way home and that was a convincing factor for Mr Emeka.

He went silent after hearing what happened to Ademi. He thought for a while and told Carolina not to worry that he was going to give him the job. He asked about Carolina's welfare and also about her parents' before he finally hung up with 'My regards to your parents and please take care of yourself.'

He called Ademi immediately but he was sleeping because he took an injection with a little of sleeping pills in it. While he was sleeping, a transparent small tank with some yellowish content was hung above his head and a hose-like pipe was transporting the content into Ademi through his hand.

....
He woke up few hours later and returned Mr Emeka's call immediately he checked his phone. He was asked to resume work for anytime he is completely healed. Mr Emeka capped the conversation with the salary he was going to pay him which was about four times his former salary.

Ademi almost got off the bed before the pipe gave him a signal. He went back to his position and was happy with the outcome he now had.

His mind went straight to what his first day at work would look like. He was scared of the new position, new environment, new people and most of all the cloth he was going to put on. At least, he needs clothes for all the days he will spend before he gets his first salary-to get a new ones. That was a big challenge to him and it became his new bone of contention.

Ademi left the hospital and went home. He didn't resume work until after two weeks he left the hospital. One of his challenge was the cloth to wear although, he had told Caro about it but he wasn't going to expect her to get it for him.

He thought of where to lend money to get few classic clothes but no one was really ready to help unless Carolina. She sent him the first share of her salary as agreed and told him to use that to get the clothes. What an helping hand Carolina really is!!!

The voice of blood

Episode 11

He replied her messages and in few days, they got talking again.

It was as if they started afresh. The angry Carolina who always gets frustrated easily and was always indoor became so happy and playful at home. It was obvious that something had changed not only to her parents but also the new house help. Her parents were happy at her new behavior 'thank God she is now changed. She has finally decided to accept this new environment.' Her parents thought she was not happy with the change of environment.

Ademi was also changed. No more bar; no more drinking; no more begging, though what stopped that was his experience in jail but his reconciliation made him a happier being. He was passionate to get a very good job and make sure he save enough to get him connected with Caro physically.

Ademi had planned with Caro on how to get him across to her new environment. Although, it was Caro's idea but Ademi was also eager to make it happen.

The plan was that Ademi will get a good job; will save about sixty percent of the salary. Caro will also do same and when it is enough to get him a Visa, they will get it together and get Ademi across.

Ademi needed a phone. He told Caro about it. There are times he missed opportunities due to the inability of the employer to reach him. Even those that sent him messages through mail were never patient for his response before they go for their alternative because he was either very late or very very late to check his email account. There was a day he was right on time and was asked to come for interview. He went and it was obvious he performed very well. He was the best for the job and the employer had decided to call him anytime soon to resume work. He had dropped the phone number of his neighbor and told him to notify him when  the employer called.

The day the call came in, the neighbor's girlfriend was the one with the phone. She thought it was a number she was trying on the phone and so she picked. The conversation went on but it was looking like those that want to scam her boyfriend. "Hello Mr man, i am his girlfriend and i know much about him. At first, you mentioned a wrong name. That was not his name and he has a good job. He didn't even tell me he went for any interview. So you see how daft you are to see him as someone you can scam. God will punish you" she said a whole lot with the mind that he was among the rampant fraudsters.

That was the only stain to Ademi's qualification. He went back to the employer and was shocked to hear the story. He pleaded but unluckily for him, someone else had started the work.

Carolina was not happy with what happened to him. She was having more than one phone with her and can still get more. She was looking for a way to get him a phone

With pure love, everything is possible. One day, Ademi received a package from a motorcycle carriage. He was surprised and was curious to unwrap it. Lo and behold, it was the number one need of Ademi. But there was a short note before the wonderful package which goes thus:

'Ademi! Please make sure you are diligent with this plan so that you can come over as fast as possible. I will not only add my share, i will try to get more money from my Dad in a student way-i will lie about textbooks, bill payment etc and make sure the money gets complete as fast as possible because i can't wait to see you and besides, my clitoris is red-hot seeking for connection but it's unfortunately fortunate that i can only be yours. Please get a job and let's make this happen' Caro sent this on a Sunday afternoon while she was thinking of how to make him come fast.

He was happy to get not just any phone but an iPhone. The connection got closer. They did much of WhatsApp calls. You can tell that a day will not pass until these two love birds have spoken.

Ademi sought for Job but he wasn't able to get a job of his choice. The ones he got were 'monkey dey work, baboon dey chop' type. He tried more and was already getting tired.

.....

'Tell me why i won't love you? Do you think any guy will ever want to play you or will be happy to leave you? You are just very different from many other ladies out there. My orientation of ladies is either they love you for your money and properties or because you are very handsome and brilliant or because they are over ripe for marriage but you are not just my girlfriend, you are a definition of helpmeet. You rescued me from abductors; you got me out of jail; you will be saving sixty percent of your income just for me: you got me a new phone and now, you are getting me a job.

I received a call and as soon as he mentioned his name, i knew he was your Dad's friend you told me about. He asked me to come for interview tomorrow and I was surprised because i didn't expect such. I never submitted my CV there. I knew you were the one that got the job on my behalf. I still wonder why you love me this much. Thanks so much Caromi' Ademi messaged her. He was just so happy with her and he couldn't stop thinking why she was always doing this 'was it because of our commitment? If so, thank God i took the step that day. It's really a saviour of many things.'

The day of the interview came. Ademi was afraid. He didn't want to fumble but it was a completed job. It wasn't an interview per say but a discussion between an employer and his new employee. Carolina has not only gotten him the job by the influence of her father, she had also created the vacancy that wasn't planned for. She begged her Dad's friend to fix him in and after a lot of talk, Mr Emeka-CEO of Gurag paint-decided to put him in charge of marketing services.

Mr Emeka was so busy and told him to come back the next day so that they can discuss about his salary and what he was expected to do. He gave him transport fare.
'What kind of interview is this? I was served drinks and was sitting in a very conducive office instead of the waiting room. He was just treating me like his son and even gave me transport fare worth my monthly feeding allowance.' Ademi couldn't even fathom what happened.

He went there the next day after a long night thinking on what salary he will tender. After about one hour of waiting, they got talking. The conversation didn't last for ten minutes before Ademi became sad again.

Mr Emeka had gone through his file and had also made little findings about him and discovered he had been to prison.

He shocked Ademi with a reply he wasn't expecting and excused him from his office immediately.

What was Mr Emeka's response?

Her face changed and she started to drop tears. Ademi had completed the rest of his story and it goes thus "Caromi, i still find it difficult to understand all you said the last night we talked. I was just explaining something to you and you took it up. Like seriously,  you were just talking in parables.

I will like to finish my discussion here since you've refused to talk to me.

I had thought of doing evil to my boss. I had even joined hands with a gang who were ready to rob our office. But ever since your birthday, after that night, I changed my mind. In fact, so many wrongs I had done, I was making moves to correct them. You took away my darkness and gave me light. As i am typing this, i still wonder how I stayed off free sex. If you know how addicted i am to sex, you will know that i can spend my last penny to get it. I can even go to the length of using charm on any lady i want sex with. But ever since, i stopped being extreme. Maybe not you per say. Maybe it's the commitment i had with you. It kept on ringing every time in my head. Asides that, you are the second person I fell in love with. After my first love-relationship that i gave my all to back then, you are the next. The rest have been  'chop and go'. I love you Carolina and i still do" she looked away from the phone. The aeroplane felt like a prison to her. It was as tho she should rewind the time to when he was talking so she can hear his story completely. She bowed her head and was thinking. "Why didn't i give him the chance to finish what he was saying before i replied? Why didn't I even pick up his calls? I could have just heard him out one more time before i made this final decision" the thoughts went on until she dozed off.

Ademi left the front of her house after about two hours of thinking too. He had different
Ideas in his mind and finally he thought of going to a bar to have some drinks.

But when he got there, he didn't just have some, he drank to stupor. In fact, he was sent away from the bar when they were about to close for the day. It was one of his 'side chick' that helped him to her house. He just kept calling Caromi, Carolina mi until he slept off.

Carolina and her family got into their new apartment. It was set already. They just arrange the little luggage they had with them. It was a tiring journey for Caro because it was her first time travelling that far, coupled with the misunderstanding with Ademi. She went straight into her room with the hope of getting a little nap but she couldn't stop thinking. "What do i do now? My Dad will surely not give ears to anything concerning Ademi again. In fact, how do i get through to him like this? I angrily disconnected our connection." She kept on singing the song 'what do i do' repeatedly until an idea dropped in her heart.

She thought of other social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. She got on them immediately and gave him a direct message. She apologized about her quick judgement and narrated what she thought and why she did what she did.

That gave her a relief and she was able to sleep after surfing a little bit more-you know Instagram can be kind of enticing because you might end up doing what you went there to do thirty minutes after you have scrolled through different posts.

Days went by and Caro was regularly checking for a reply from Ademi but it was looking like 'i will get back to you' syndrome. She thought of getting his contact from his social media which she did but was disappointed when the response from the other end of the call wasn't from Ademi but a beautiful lady with a nice voice saying that 'the number you are trying to call is currently switched off. Please try again later'

Ademi has been a regular customer of the bar and was always high. He didn't even try to go to his work place since he got back. He was just on alcohol diet and you can see that showing in his body. At night, he use to be as clean as a mad man. It's either he is begging someone for money or he is drinking or he is at home sleeping.

So who will be the middle man to connect the lovers together?

Ademi was in the bar one day drinking as usual. The police came around and took him along with some guys. They thought he was part of the Yahoo boys that were there too.

Not too long after, the real culprit got themselves bail and were out. They didn't even spend up to two hours. But here is Ademi spending his third day and still counting. He cried out for mercy and after six days, he was released.

That was his redemption from the bar. It was also the medicine to be normal again and to begin life again. He thought of getting a new job and hope for the best. He had to start sending his CV like how news paper is distributed. But then, he had to regularly check his mail if there is any message from any company. He had no phone and wasn't planning to get anyone soon. So he makes use of the café. That was how he brought out to life some of his social media. But they were all flooded with messages and notification that he couldn't check all in a day or two.

So he was always checking the little he could any day he went surfing. Then one day, he saw a message from Caro. He was afraid to open it. He read the message and one could see the relief on his face. He now saw the clearer picture of what happened. For about fifteen minutes, he rested his back on the chair away from the computer and was thinking. 'So what will we do? How do we start? Where will we start from? " he was thinking about this and his time was reading. It was about two minutes to when his time would expire before he came back to life.

He replied her messages and in few days, they got talking again.

The voice of blood

Episode 9

Ademi grunts heavily that one can feel the vibration of his voice. He was sounding like a lazy man who is lifting up a heavy weight. I thought his voice was a little bit thin until this night, it was a bass version but it was his bedroom voice still. Probably this part was used occasionally.

'Caro, i need money. I haven't paid my house rent. In fact, i don't have a dime in my account and i don't have foodstuff too. This is because of the greediness of my boss. He refused to pay my salary for about two months now claiming he doesn't have money and he sends me everyday to write a cheque for different ladies. I am very ripe for promotion but he's  refused to grant me, even when there is a conspicuous empty position above, he'd rather grant someone not as qualified as I am, and he'll not consider me for salary raise after all my complaints. Worst of all, he uses me the most and still say I'm lazy. So Caro, tell me, if you were in my shoes, what would you do? but then...' by the time he was done talking, he had just stopped his swinging position like a disconnected fan. "Profuse" was the name of the sweat dripping from his face. It was like the AC was not installed properly-as if they put the outside part inside vice versa. Maybe it just started  blowing hot air instead.

Ademi pushed him away. Went back into the bathroom to get her towel and came in wearing a long face. She was just pacing like a man whose wife were in labour. She was humming and hissing. "But what? You this boy you've destroyed my life completely. My Dad will find out and he will not only end our relationship, he also vowed to jail you. If he jails you, he would also be jailing me. Yours will be a physical jail but mine will be an emotional jail-a worst jail. You exposed me to sex and will be leaving me for jail. Not only that, you put a stigma on me and even if i find someone else to love or even if I get horny, i will be imprisoned by the commitment we made. We will be in different countries and you will be restricted by the walls of a cell. Why did you do this to me Ademi? My Dad will find out soon and all these will happen in a twinkling of an eye and i said it that day oo. I kept saying it that i hope we are doing the right thing. I shouldn't have listened to you." she couldn't stop talking and soon, she moved towards him and was hitting him slightly on his leg while she kept complaining.

Caro left the room, locked the door on him and went straight to the sitting room to weep.

Ademi was wondering what was happening. It was like a dream to him. Even small but mighty Mr man has collapsed. He didn't understand anything she was saying. 'She didn't even allow me to finish what i was saying before she began her whatever. Let me sleep, when her head is cool tomorrow, we will trash it out' he dozed off soon after.

Carolina slept during one of the sessions of her weep-think-soliloquizing.

The darkness came and went. Carolina had opened the door for Ademi as early as the cock's crowing time. To Ademi's greatest surprise, she never said a word to him about the last night's drama. She just told him to get his stuff and got him out. At their departure, she told him never to call her again and never to look for her by any means. Then, she walked straight inside and went back to dream land.

It was her father that got her back from her journey. He was coming to say 'good morning' and 'have a nice day' ritual as he was traveling for three days to prepare how he will come pick them the fourth day.

Caro opened the door with determination to tell her father about her decision. 'Dad good morning sir. Thank God you came in. Dad, don't bother about Ademi again. I will go and start a new life over there. I know I will find a better person. Thanks so much for rescuing him. The incidence made me understand how much you love me to risk your life for what i wanted. I was selfish and i guess it was love that blindfolded me. But then, dream took away the life in my love story. I dreamt a terrible dream tonight and i won't bother you about it but the dream wasn't saying good about myself and Ademi. The old man even told me to leave the relationship in other to save his life. And i love him so much that i don't want him to die. Dad please, let's just get out of this country as quick as possible before his love overshadows me again. Leave everything about Ademi. No more investigations and no more help. Dad please "

He couldn't believe his ears but he loved his daughter and would listen to whatever she said. "I don't need to know much details dear. I trust you and i will do just that. Thank God your mom did not know anything about this or else it will not be as simple as this" Mr Anderson got closer to her and and hugged her.

She helped him with his bag into the car and waved good bye to him.

About thirty to fourty missed calls has always been Caro's experience for about two days now. She refused to pick calls and anytime she did, it was either a curse or a perfect Silence from her end. She even avoided him and will avoid any movement towards his area. He had sent series of messages but she'd been  ignoring it.

Four days came and it was time for the family of Mr Anderson to relocate. Ademi heard about it and was surprised about all he was hearing. He had come to see the driver a day before and they had discussed-he had gotten close to the driver those times Caro came with him and he was good to him.

He came on the Dday. He wanted to man up and discuss with her by force by fire and also talk to her parents but when he got there, he only met the gateman who told him that they had left for the airport.

To worsen it, Caro had broken the sim and changed her WhatsApp. So there was no means to communicate. He couldn't cry. He stood outside their gate and was thinking.

Caro and her parents were already on board. They boarded a first class airplane and of course their phones were already on airplane mode. Caro plugged in an earphone and was listening to music. Not long after, she started operating the phone until she got to message and mistakingly clicked on one of Ademi's message.

She scan through and immediately, you could see the shock on her face that her heart melted just now. She couldn't believe what she saw in the message.

What really is the message?

The voice of blood

Episode 8

Ademi was scared to go to his house. "Who knows what will happen this time " he said to Caro while they were on their way. She thought for a while of the kind of help she could offer and the best help she came up with was to sneak him into her room because she knows her Dad might not accept him yet even if her mom did (that's even if she'd accept)

She succeeded in getting him into her room with a near-miss catch by her dad. She thought they'd both slept, unknowing to her that her Dad was on a conference call. It was the call that rescued Caro from getting caught. He was looking away from the lobby while Ademi and Caro walked in but as soon as Ademi walked away from his view Mr Anderson turned around and saw Caro sneaking but his call didn't allow him make any move.

After his call, he went knocking on her door. By this time, Ademi was bathing. She became scared and unlike her, she opened the door and came out in order to avoid her Dad from entering. Mr Anderson was kind of confused by her behavior and asked why she sneaked in and why she stopped him from entering her room.
"Dad, so you saw me sneak. I was avoiding you and mom cos i knew if you heard me come in, you'd want us to talk and i'm so tired. In fact that's why i don't want you in cos i know we'd go on for long talk if you come in. Dad, can we talk tomorrow please?" She pretended as if she was tired. She was giving fake yawns and was stretching her hands and legs. She supported herself with the door knob . One of her eyes was touching the door knob while the other was the only one in contact with her Dad.

Her Dad gave her a good night peck and left. She hurriedly locked her door and breathed heavily. She sat on her bed and was looking at the roof but was hearing Ademi singing and splashing water. She went straight to the door and said to him : "You better bath silently or else we will get caught, Dad came knocking and was suspicious but i was able to cover up. Thank God he wasn't hearing your voice when he came or else, probably you will be on your way to police station by now. Also thank your head that it's not mom because if she was the one, i am very sure she would have smelt or caught us, because she would  insist on coming in to gist. Ademi! Ademi! So you're not hearing since?" She opened the bathroom door, put her head in and saw Ademi dancing. Not only him but also the long man between his laps. "You better shut up or we will be in trouble" she said and slammed the door.

Ademi carefully and quietly finished bathing. He came out on a white towel showing a shaped organ at almost it's center. (I guess Mr man is stretching and even out doing exercise. )

Caro came closer and threatened to pull off the towel but Ademi was running here and there to avoid that until he landed on the bed. She came and was almost pulling it off but he drew her closer to the bed and they kept playing like  babies using the pillow as their toy. But then, the small Mr man was taking things seriously and was sending messages to Ademi's brain and to Caro's eye.

The small but mighty organ won the case and set Ademi on fire ready to burn. Caro noticed and wanted to rescue him but 'no way' was the answer from the ready Ademi. 'Ok Ademi listen. Dad has promised to help you. He said he will sponsor you to travel with us to Belgium and you can also marry me but he has his condition. He....' Ademi jumed on her like how a winner of a contest will do when he's announced the winner. But Ademi's own wasn't because of what Caro said but because of what he wanted. He wasn't even listening very well. He was just like 'we can always say this after but if you insist, kindly talk very fast and let's do the do.' See what Mr man has started.

She then tried to use another method because she wasn't going to risk it. 'What if any of my parents come close to the door and gets to hear our sounds-the product of our intercourse. I won't allow this to happen " So she escaped by saying she was going to shower first before anything. So she left for the bathroom.

While bathing, Ademi was preparing for the battle. He was sharpening the weapon and wearing the armor and bullet proof. He dressed just like Goliath not knowing a small David is going to defeat him.

But will it be that kind of defeat you are thinking? I guess you are wrong cause it isn't.

Caro while bathing remembered that she was going to interrogate Ademi about the abduction issue. 'What if i use this as a bait to get the truth from him? After all, i was told that the two ways to get a guy to say the truth is either you get him drunk or ask him during intercourse. How i wish i could combine both, but i will try this anyway." By the time she was done reminiscing, she was also done bathing.

Ademi focused his eyes on the bathroom door handle expecting the 45° turning. The turning happened and the door gently opened.

Ademi became almost paralyzed because of what he saw. What a weakness you can experience even if you are the most powerful man on earth, when you see a lady show up naked especially when she has a little spice of body movements and seductions. Just pray you don't experience it cos you will never go back the same.

That was what Caro surprised Ademi with and just like what a cock would do to a hen, he ran after her as if it was not the same food he was going to eat. He grabs her and they both got into the business.

It was even hard for Caro to talk during the process. Aside the fact that she was going to sound like an incoming call, a business like this takes along the mind and brain into the feeling. It's just going to be a feeling you can't explain. So it was kinda not easy to give a talk of such but she did.

After a two time break, she got talking on the third business. It was hard to even communicate. It was just like someone who has speaking disorder because it was a mixture of words and sounds.

Ademi was already unguarded. Which guard would even remain at this point? The predictions of Caro worked cos he confessed like a witch would do at the end of a Yoruba film.

"Ademi, to be frank with you, i know you cooked up this abduction of a thing. You wanted your boss money by force and so you planned this. But why did you now want to implicate those girls? Don't lie to me because i had dreamt about it and my dreams are always true " although it took a long time before she could complete this, but she did anyways.

Then, Ademi began....

You will be shocked by Ademi's reply.
