Episode 5

“Rita, First of, i need you to stay calm,  if you are reading this, it means you must of have regained consciousness and you must be wondering what happened to you and how you got to where you are- perhaps you are scared, please don’t be because you are in safe hands.
We don’t have so much explanations to do now. We’ll tell you everything that happened in person. In case you get hungry, we've got food in the pot and you can put on any of our clothes because your dress isn't in good shape again. Please take care of yourself till we come back.
Pam and Nath”

After reading this, she got so much confused and couldn’t even think straight. She tried to stop thinking but it wasn't happening. “Did these guys drug me just for them to rape me cause the last i can remember is that we were at the matriculation night together.”

 Tears started to drop from her eyes but she wiped it away every single time until she gave in to the uncontrollable tears while she covered her eyes with her palms. “But why do i always have to be a victim of rape at every breakthrough in my life? Why must i start this new light with rape again? Why me?” she cried for about fifteen minutes more before she wiped her face and decided to leave the house she was in.

She left in Pam’s clothes without any clear intention of where to go but as soon as she stepped out of the door, a young woman saw and greeted her in a way that got her more curious to know what had happened to her. So in her mind, it was either to go home to change her clothes or head to school to see Nath or Pam but her curiosity led her to school.

It happened to be her greatest mistake coming to school because she was bullied by several people- those she knew and those she didn’t know.

“Welcome back from your wild state; is this not that girl that got very high yesterday? Horny girl, i hoped you have been served right? What kind of question is that? I trust my guys na” these are all that got her attention throughout her walk in the school premises.

The only lady that tried to care, and was about asking how she was feeling, got snubbed by her and she never gave her attention. When the pressure and bullying was too much, she turned back and headed to her hostel but on getting to her hostel, her situation worsened. So she finally took few of her things and left for her parents place without having a better clue of what had happened to her.

She cried all through her journey while still trying to hide her tears from the public. Her unannounced visit got her parents worried but her siblings were happy that at least, they've gotten help in terms of food. A sure one for that matter but to their surprise, she restricted herself to her room and wouldn’t do the chores expected of her siblings.   

Her excuse to her parent was that she was sick and needed attention. While they asked why she didn’t inform them about her coming home, she lied that she had a flat battery and wasn’t interested in using someone else’s phone to call any of them. Truly, she switched off her phone because she didn’t want  to pick up calls from Nath and Pam.

She didn’t know who to fight with for what happened. At every of her soliloquizing, she either blamed herself for going to the party despite all indications and signs that indicated she shouldn’t have gone. At first, she had to fight with her tailor before she could get her clothes. on getting the cloth, she decided to iron it again and got it burnt at a very obvious side. She was forced to lend from a friend far away and now, she has spoilt it beyond repair. “What will I tell Feranmi about her gown? Why can’t i listen to my inner self with all the indications especially at the last minute when i couldn’t find my money but the pleasure had overshadowed my thoughts. Why did i even call Pam and Nath to come pick me up?” she held her fist and hit her pillow hard “And the  stupid boys that call themselves my friend couldn’t even help me out of all these mess in time. Why did they leave me to display drunkenness in that gathering? Friends my foot! They allowed me sleep naked in their room and left the window transparent and the door was not even locked. If i found out that any of them tried to touch my body, I’ll make sure i treat their fuck up even if i have to join a cult. They shouldn't even bother talking to me ever again because they are now my sworn enemies” she said all these in her mind whilst in deep tears.

 She stayed indoor for days and was using medications for what wasn’t happening to her just to avoid her parents knowing what had happened. She wasn’t even conscious of her phone which gave her younger sister  enough time to explore the phone secretly- she watched movies, checked pictures and even invaded her messages until a call came in. The caller wouldn’t stop calling which left her no choice but to give the phone to the owner. Rita was surprised to see her phone with her sister but she was caught up with who the caller was. She hissed immediately she saw that the caller was Pam and refused to pick up despite several beeps.

Pam and Nath were so afraid of what she could be going through now and wanted to hear from her at all cost so....
